Diploma in Holistic Massage (With A & P)

This intensive massage course covers all the procedures you need to know to give an effective and safe body massage using base oils.

The benefits and contra-indications of massage are covered together with stress management and assertiveness. Dealing with client referrals to other professionals such as GP’s is taught.

The course covers anatomy and physiology as a class and distant learning module that is completed with the aid of a textbook and online. This is part of the massage diploma course and included in the cost. There is a written test, which is submitted within 6 months of the course to complete the module. A & P can be taken separately from the massage diploma as an addition or pre-requisite for other courses at a cost of £75.

Other subjects covered on the massage diploma are the chakras and aura and the use of colour when giving a massage. An understanding of energy work is also taught.

Casework is involved (3 case studies of 3 treatments each) which is undertaken in the student’s own time. The student within 6 months of the course types casework up for submission. The student is also required to find his or her own clients for casework after the course.

An assessment of the student’s ability to give an effective and safe massage is undertaken at the end of the course which runs over 3 weekends at one weekend a month. Clients are provided during the course for student practice.
