The new ID card, which will become compulsory in 2012, is costing this country at least £5.8 Billion (and there’s a recession?).
While being costly and intrusive it will not prevent fraud or terrorism. The proposed national database of which this will be a part may eventually link your health records, any convictions/court attendance, political preferences, buying behaviour, religion and much more.
The card is unlike the ones used in other countries. It will carry more personal details and has no safeguards. It also carries severe penalties for not conforming (£1000 for not changing your details and £2500 for not having an ID card). There is more to this piece of plastic than meets the eye so act now!
If you do not agree with the introduction of this card or want more information access: www.NO2ID.net or write your MP/MSP.
