Visualisation for Releasing Past Hurts | |
|
- Make sure you will not be disturbed for 20 minutes and light some candles and incense. Select some soothing music. Get yourself in a comfortable position with your feet on the floor and imagine you have grounding cords to mother earth below your feet. Wrap yourself in a blanket if you have one and hold a soft toy. Breathe deeply and close your eyes.
- Imagine you are in a theatre sitting watching a play where the cast acts out a childhood hurt of yours.
- Look at the play and the actors in a detached way as an observer.
- When you see yourself in the play being hurt shout STOP! The cast freezes.
- As your adult self, go and comfort the child in the play, which is you as a child.
- Go to the perpetrator and say what you feel and what effects the action has had on you and your life as an adult in a calm, reasoned
- Then say:- I (your name) completely forgive you for ------------, I love you and I completely release you from the past to walk your path in the light of love and compassion.
- Say this to the child and the perpetrator.
- Now unfreeze the play and see the actors behaving in the way you would like, with your child feeling happy, playful and cared for.
- Continue to breathe deeply, observing your feelings release as you do.
- Become aware of your fingers and toes and your grounding cords to mother earth. Open your eyes when you are ready to.
- Make sure you give yourself a treat or treats after this exercise.
